Buyers Guide to A Futon Sofa Bed

Before we start discussing how to choose a futon sofa bed, we need to explain first what a convertible futon sofa bed is.

A convertible futon sofa bed is a versatile couch with an upright back which can be converted to a sleeper bed with a simple click mechanism. Futons come in a variety of sizes, shapes, colors, and upholstery. Before you embark on purchasing a new futon sofa we suggest you follow a few simple steps.

1) Since futons fold flat it is important to measure the space it is going in. Since a typical futon extends by 10 to 15”, it is recommended that you allow 15 to 24” in the front of the futon for seamless functionality. A wall behind the futon or a coffee table in front of it might hinder the sleeping option functionally.

10) Washable covers come in handy if the futon is used regularly. This will keep the futon fresh and looking like new for longer.
